Staff Training

The requirement for Staff Training

The Regulatory Reform ( Fire Safety) Order 2005 article 21 states that “The responsible person must ensure that his employees are provided with adequate safety training”

The responsible person must ensure that their employees are provided with adequate safety training when they are first employed and periodically and also when new systems of work or technology or equipment is introduced. To achieve this we provide a Basic fire safety awareness course and where the need is identified a Fire Wardens course can also be provided. The fire Wardens course is required where greater level of control of fire safety is needed; the specific role can vary according to the organisational needs but places a strong emphasis on evacuation procedures and fire safety awareness. Article 13 of The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order imposes a duty on employers to provide adequate training for any persons who may be expected to use the fire safety equipment that they have provided, this would include fire extinguishers.
